Description

  • Train, evaluate, and deploy ML-based scene understanding, behavior prediction, and planning models.
  • Design and execute experiments based on input from other machine learning engineers.
  • Prototype and improve metrics for evaluating behavioral models across scenarios and robotaxi capabilities.
  • Analyze off-line and on-road evaluation data to support timely major model releases.
  • Propose new architectures and network designs based on published research and industry trends.
  • Maintain a high-quality training and evaluation codebase, including dataset generation and evaluation components.
  • Collaborate and mentor others on technical work and model development.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • In-depth understanding of common machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
  • Experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for motion planning, object detection, sensor fusion, motion prediction, and/or multi-object tracking.
  • Strong track record of solving ill-defined problems and delivering successful outcomes efficiently.
  • Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods.
  • Experience with PyTorch or other Python-based deep learning frameworks.
  • Experience working with large datasets and deriving insights from data.
  • Experience mentoring and collaborating with others.
  • Publications in relevant conferences such as CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS, ICCV, or ICLR are preferred.
  • PhD in machine learning, computer vision, or robotics vision is preferred.
  • Experience working on autonomous vehicles or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience deploying models into real-world environments is preferred.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and/or CUDA are preferred.
  • Ability to support remote work within the United States with occasional travel.

  • Base salary range of $146,000 to $225,000 USD.
