Description

  • Design and create environments that enable data scientists to build models and manipulate data.
  • Extract data from customer systems and place it into analytical environments.
  • Learn and understand customer technology environments and systems.
  • Define deployment approaches and infrastructure for machine learning models.
  • Work with data scientists to transform data into deployable formats for actionable machine learning models.
  • Partner with data scientists to ensure solutions are deployable at scale and maintainable throughout their lifecycle.
  • Create operational testing strategies and validate models through QA, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure the quality of delivered products.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineer, or Data Engineer.
  • A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience deploying data science models in a production setting.
  • Expertise in Python, Scala, Java, or another modern programming language.
  • Ability to build and operate robust data pipelines across multiple data sources, programming languages, and toolsets.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing distributed SQL queries.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and tools such as h2o, TensorFlow, Keras, or scikit-learn.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or another containerization technology.
  • Familiarity with multiple data source systems such as JMS, Kafka, RDBMS, DWH, MySQL, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Systems-level knowledge of network/cloud architecture, operating systems such as Linux, and storage platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or Cloudera.
  • Production experience with core data technologies such as Spark or Pandas.
  • Experience developing APIs and web server applications such as Flask, Django, or Spring.
  • Full software development lifecycle experience, including design, documentation, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong analytical ability and the ability to translate business requirements and use cases into solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with previous experience working with internal or external customers.
  • A master’s or other advanced degree in data science or a related field is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ecosystem technologies such as HBase, Impala, Solr, Kudu, Streamsets, NiFi, ElasticSearch, Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS/Azure/GCP is preferred.
  • Relevant side projects, such as open source contributions, are preferred.
  • Experience with AWS SageMaker and MLflow is preferred.
