Description

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
  • Review team-prepared work and provide constructive feedback to improve accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Own revenue accounting for subscription and usage-based SaaS models, including ASC 606 treatment.
  • Review customer contracts and manage deferred revenue schedules, cutover, and allocation.
  • Directly manage and develop a team of accounting professionals through coaching, mentorship, and performance check-ins.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting workflows, internal controls, documentation, and review procedures.
  • Prepare audit schedules and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.
  • Partner with FP&A, Sales, Product, and Operations on actuals, variance analysis, budgeting inputs, and accounting guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, and subscription billing.
  • Experience with modern accounting systems such as NetSuite.
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes and scaling accounting operations.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy and deadlines.
  • Experience at a high-growth SaaS or technology company is preferred.
  • Familiarity with metrics such as ARR, churn, and net retention is preferred.
  • Experience with automation or workflow tools is preferred.
