Description

  • Lead a crew while performing detailed installation, re-configuration, integration, removal, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Install and work on AC/DC power systems, fiber systems, central office infrastructure, supervisory and alarm systems.
  • Lead installation projects and supervise lower-level installers and technicians on basic installation and testing tasks.
  • Read and apply method of procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment documentation, wiring documentation, schematics, and test records.
  • Prepare accurate documentation including MOPs, high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and internal teams to complete, test, and turn up equipment.
  • Perform advanced testing, turn-up, integration, and quality validation on in-process and completed work.
  • Resolve equipment, technical, and project-related issues using defined processes.
  • Physically place, remove, and modify working and non-working equipment, including cable trays, racks, cabinets, frames, and data center hardware.
  • Install, identify, label, measure, terminate, and route AC/DC power and data cables in technical spaces.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of installation experience, or a combination of experience and training approved by management.
  • Prior leadership experience is required.
  • High school diploma plus two years of technical school, or equivalent training and experience in communications installation.
  • Must have mastered Telco Standard TP76300 and be able to perform Level 4 installer duties with a high degree of competence and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of transport equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, and Juniper.
  • Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency with laptop computers and applications, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to pass pre-employment background checks, and insurability are required; valid passport is a plus.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards, company/customer policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and travel extensively within the U.S.; international travel is a plus.

  • Base pay range of $68,000 to $80,000 USD.
  • Performance, referral, and production bonuses or incentives may be available.
