Description

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of the graphics and rendering stack across Android/Linux and web targets.
  • Write and maintain performance-critical C/C++ code for system-level and rendering components.
  • Profile and optimize the full pipeline, including CPU/GPU bottlenecks, shader cost, memory usage, compositor interactions, and streaming latency.
  • Investigate and resolve complex faults across the browser engine, runtime, operating system, kernel, and graphics driver layers.
  • Drive platform upgrades such as AOSP versions, browser engines, and graphics APIs while keeping the system stable and shippable.
  • Partner with other teams to define and implement testing strategies for rendering correctness, performance regressions, and cross-device fidelity.
  • Operate as a senior independent contributor by scoping work, driving it to completion, and communicating clearly with a small team.
  • Use AI coding agents and tooling to accelerate research, prototyping, code generation, debugging, and review.
  • Help shape the technical strategic roadmap and contribute to building the technical team.

Requirements

  • Strong systems programming foundation with proficiency in C/C++ for performance-critical, low-level codebases.
  • Deep familiarity with Linux and OS-level internals.
  • Deep experience with one or more real-time graphics stacks such as OpenGL ES, WebGL, WebGPU, Vulkan, Metal, or DirectX.
  • Experience with shader programming, GPU memory and pipeline optimization, and frame/latency budgeting.
  • Track record of owning complex, multi-component graphics or systems products end-to-end from prototype to production at scale.
  • Daily fluency with AI coding agents and LLM tooling, with a habit of verifying and challenging AI output.
  • Strong written communication and a self-directed working style suited to a small, senior, high-trust team.
  • Depth in one or more of the following: browser engine internals, game engine internals, Android internals, Android/Linux graphics stack, web platform technologies, containers and virtualization, real-time network and socket programming, or Linux device driver programming.
  • Preferred experience building, fine-tuning, or evaluating internal AI or agent tooling.
  • Preferred data-driven mindset using both qualitative and quantitative signals.
  • Preferred mobile game development experience.
  • Preferred background in advanced compression, video codecs, or color management.
  • Preferred graduate work or research background in computer graphics, systems, or a related field.
