Description

  • Develop software in an agile environment using test-driven development and flexible pair programming.
  • Contribute as a hands-on engineering manager, with up to 50% of time spent coding.
  • Work with product and design to shape the application and guide balanced team execution.
  • Deliver high-quality code that supports business goals and system reliability.
  • Coach up to 5 engineers on career growth, performance, and technical improvement.
  • Guide engineering practices across teams to improve methods and effectiveness.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and help resolve critical system issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy AI features that improve user experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails or other open-source programming languages.
  • At least 5 years of experience delivering software in a production environment.
  • At least 2 years of management experience.
  • Must reside in the United States.
  • Experience with React or TypeScript is preferred.
  • Exposure to healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7, or integration with major EHR systems like Epic or Cerner, is preferred.
  • Experience building or maintaining rules engines, decision trees, or dynamic form/survey infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to improve business processes is preferred.
  • Experience as a technical lead working with UX/UI design and/or product management is preferred.
  • Understanding of data structures, TDD, software engineering design patterns, and software engineering principles.
