Description

  • Lead and grow multiple distributed software engineering teams while fostering high trust and psychological safety.
  • Coach, mentor, and manage performance for engineers, with an emphasis on developing senior and staff-level talent.
  • Own end-to-end delivery and operational excellence for the teams’ portfolio, ensuring systems are reliable and secure at scale.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and cross-functional leaders to define vision, prioritize roadmaps, and align long-term strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership by setting architectural guardrails and guiding major technical decisions without direct code contribution.
  • Establish engineering standards for SLAs/SLOs, security best practices, and QA processes.
  • Champion inclusive, async-first collaboration practices across teams distributed over an ~8-hour time zone spread.
  • Support and shape the culture and organizational growth of the engineering hub in Europe.

Requirements

  • Extensive software development experience as an individual contributor.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading multiple distributed software engineering teams.
  • Strong product sense and experience delivering high-quality results across the full product lifecycle.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS products, including backend services, APIs, and user-facing workflows.
  • Ability to dive deep into complex architectural problems and guide senior engineers to strong decisions.
  • Experience setting technical vision over a 6-12 month horizon and managing a complex portfolio of projects.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills in a remote-first environment.
  • Track record of hiring and developing senior engineering talent.
  • High sense of ownership and a strong growth mindset in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: experience with Python, modern event-driven systems, scalable worker frameworks, API/Open API design, data connector ecosystems, iPaaS solutions like Workato, and IAM solutions.
