Description

  • Review source assets such as course videos, transcripts, speaker decks, and code repositories.
  • Shape structure, flow, and learning paths based on the source course.
  • Use Packt’s AI tools to convert courses into written manuscripts while preserving expert insight, examples, and teaching intent.
  • Ensure chapters include appropriate introductions, transitions, summaries, captions, instructions, examples, and reader guidance.
  • Review AI-assembled on-demand video courses for editorial quality, flow, and completeness before publication.
  • Review and approve ingested expert material so it becomes clear, attributable, and retrievable insight units.
  • Improve grammar, clarity, readability, consistency, and overall flow.
  • Check that the output reads like a book rather than a transcript and supports the intended learning outcome.
  • Review AI-generated output critically and correct errors, hallucinations, omissions, unsupported claims, and tone issues.
  • Document source issues, process bottlenecks, and feedback to improve workflows, and escalate blockers or quality risks early.

Requirements

  • Excellent written English with strong grammar, clarity, and editing judgment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to share clear feedback with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to test code and flag issues.
  • Ability to organize information into logical structures and reader-friendly explanations.
  • Confidence working with long documents, transcripts, or source files while maintaining consistency.
  • Willingness to learn new technical concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow workflow, style, and quality checklists.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, communicate blockers early, and respond to feedback.
  • Degree, internship, or early professional experience in publishing, editing, technical writing, instructional design, journalism, education, communications, or a related field (preferred).
  • Exposure to technical topics such as AI, software development, cloud, data, and cybersecurity (preferred).
  • Experience editing transcripts, video course material, tutorials, learning content, documentation, or structured educational content (preferred).
  • Experience using AI tools for drafting, summarisation, editing, research, or workflow automation (preferred).
