Description

  • Champion an automation-first quality mindset and reduce reliance on manual testing.
  • Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks for APIs, UI, and end-to-end microservice validation.
  • Develop load and resilience testing suites to benchmark and harden distributed systems.
  • Integrate automated testing and quality gates into GitHub Actions across commits, pull requests, and deployments.
  • Validate Kafka event flows, Istio service routing, and inter-service contracts, including schemas, ACLs, and dependencies.
  • Use mock services such as Microcks or Postman to simulate endpoints and test system behavior.
  • Lead TDD adoption by embedding test scaffolds into developer workflows and enforcing coverage standards.
  • Embed security testing and data validation checks into automation frameworks.
  • Build test observability dashboards and surface quality metrics alongside performance and error budgets.
  • Perform exploratory testing and collaborate with developers, SREs, and product managers to align on quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks for microservice and web applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or an equivalent modern language.
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Proven experience with load testing and performance analysis at scale, ideally using Grafana k6.
  • Experience validating integrations across Kafka, Istio, and REST/gRPC endpoints.
  • Working knowledge of Playwright or a similar browser automation framework.
  • Understanding of TDD, security testing, and DevSecOps principles.
  • Strong debugging, observability, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Passion for driving an automation-first culture and mentoring others in modern test engineering practices.
  • Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, and containerized CI environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with contract testing frameworks for validating service communication is preferred.
  • Experience with Grafana, Datadog, or similar observability platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with B2B, eCommerce, or fulfillment ecosystems is preferred.
