Description

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of six data engineering professionals.
  • Set and track SMART goals and OKRs for the team and connect them to company objectives.
  • Own workload management for the Data Engineering team, including intake, prioritization, resource allocation, and metrics.
  • Manage delivery for large-scale data engineering projects, including project management, communication, and resource coordination.
  • Mitigate risks, clear blockers, and keep work moving smoothly through execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive initiatives and align stakeholders on priorities.
  • Own team performance against SLAs and provide visibility into SLA adherence and bottlenecks.
  • Work with technical data engineering leads to define and maintain the data engineering roadmap.
  • Identify roadmap dependencies and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communicate team goals, accomplishments, and progress to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Experience successfully managing large-scale data engineering projects.
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines in a structured deployment environment.
  • Experience with Agile project management.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems such as Spark, Kafka, and data lakes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with data architecture and patterns for structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with time series data is preferred.
  • Renewable energy industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Databricks is preferred.
  • Experience with RDS is preferred.
  • Understanding of IoT data challenges and best practices is preferred.
  • Direct experience working with IoT data pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience creating a medallion-structured data warehouse is preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Comfort with object-oriented programming languages such as Python is preferred.
  • Comfort with SQL is preferred.
