Description

  • Own end-to-end ASR tuning, model, and grammar delivery from requirements through go-live and ongoing optimization.
  • Investigate and resolve production recognition failures and other customer-facing ASR issues.
  • Serve as the primary ASR delivery contact for assigned enterprise customers and partners.
  • Design, train, and fine-tune acoustic models, language models, grammars, and lexicons to improve WER/SER.
  • Lead customer working sessions and explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Represent ASR delivery in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Support, and Project Management.
  • Build and maintain grammar-generation and delivery automation pipelines.
  • Monitor live ASR performance and address degradation proactively.
  • Deploy and validate ASR updates across production environments in multiple global regions.
  • Document tuning decisions, model versions, and configuration changes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on ASR or speech-engineering experience, including production IVR or voice-channel deployments.
  • Experience supporting customers directly, preferably in regulated industries such as banking, insurance, or healthcare.
  • Strong experience with Kaldi or an equivalent ASR platform, including language modeling, acoustic modeling, grammar/lexicon design, and decoder tuning.
  • Programming ability in Python preferred; Bash, Java, or C++ accepted, with comfort in Linux environments.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or Speech and Language Processing.
  • Excellent spoken and written English with strong enterprise stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage ambiguous, production-critical issues, multiple accounts, and demanding deadlines.
  • Experience with neural ASR frameworks such as wav2vec2 or Whisper preferred.
  • Exposure to telephony, CCaaS platforms, IVR architectures, cloud infrastructure, or MLOps preferred.
  • Additional spoken languages beyond English preferred.
