Description

  • Own the quarterly SEC reporting process and prepare reports using FloQast and Workiva based on established checklists.
  • Prepare key close and reporting workbooks across the monthly accounting close and aggregate inputs for quarterly filings.
  • Draft select financial statement disclosures and support financial statement tie-out procedures.
  • Prepare compliance-related deliverables such as related party transaction reviews, impairment memos, going concern memos, and SEC and GAAP checklists.
  • Support internal control preparation activities associated with the financial reporting cycle.
  • Work with third-party accounting advisory resources on complex accounting matters and support appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions.
  • Support FP&A reporting activities, including budget-versus-actuals reporting deliverables as needed.
  • Maintain the financial reporting calendar and hold regular stakeholder check-ins to manage close and reporting milestones.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide audit documentation, explanations, and support during quarterly audits.
  • Develop and maintain reporting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure US GAAP compliance and data accuracy.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to streamline reporting and accelerate close and filing workflows.
  • Coordinate reporting across finance, accounting, operations, procurement, engineering, legal, and government reporting stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of financial reporting experience at a public company.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ASC literature and the ability to determine presentation and disclosure requirements for new topics.
  • Experience with Workiva and NetSuite.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Experience working in nuclear or another highly regulated industry, with familiarity in governmental grant reporting and accounting standards.
  • Big 4 audit experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree in accountancy preferred.
  • Experience at a fast-growth startup, IPO, or de-SPAC preferred.
  • Experience working with the Department of Energy preferred.
  • Ability to travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice per quarter and be onsite for the first two weeks of onboarding.
  • Preferred remote location in U.S. Central or adjacent time zones.
