Description

  • Collaborate with Octopus Energy ES and global teams to develop and integrate new features for the website and mobile app.
  • Own and contribute to key product modules including the private area, bill management, saving sessions, customer onboarding optimization, and marketing dashboards.
  • Build code and solutions that directly impact customers in a fast-paced environment with frequent feedback.
  • Work within an agile, cross-functional team to identify business needs and deliver practical technical solutions quickly.
  • Design, develop, and integrate backend features for customer and internal products.
  • Support the delivery of high-impact global solutions across multi-disciplined, internationally distributed teams.
  • Help shape and improve user experiences such as time-of-use tariffs and gamified experiences.

Requirements

  • Fluent spoken English is essential for daily communication in an international team.
  • Strong professional experience building backend applications with Python.
  • Solid experience with Django or equivalent robust web frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of domain modelling and software architecture.
  • Strong expertise designing and integrating GraphQL and REST APIs.
  • Proven experience writing robust, fault-tolerant, and scalable software.
  • Experience with Celery and asynchronous task processing.
  • Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex issues from concept to production.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure such as AWS, Terraform, Packer, or Consul is a plus.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React and Next.js is a plus.
  • Familiarity with logging and metric aggregation platforms such as DataDog is a plus.
