Description

  • Analyze large datasets covering cash flow, financial health, credit, marketplace dynamics, and repayment performance.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, leadership, clients, and revenue teams to develop and commercialize analytical and data products.
  • Lead research and development of data and decisioning products while mentoring technical and business colleagues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on small business credit and Ocrolus analytics products for clients and prospects.
  • Build scalable models that balance algorithmic complexity, interpretability, customer needs, and delivery timelines.
  • Translate ambiguous business challenges into well-defined data science problems.
  • Own the full model lifecycle, including data exploration, feature engineering, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop applications such as transaction classification, default and loss forecasting, entity resolution, and fraud detection systems.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in risk management, analytics, or data science, including production decision strategies and predictive models.
  • Significant knowledge of small business credit, including underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management.
  • Hands-on experience using LLMs and emerging AI tools to develop products and solutions.
  • Full-stack data science experience from ideation and development through deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Strong software and data engineering fundamentals, with excellent Python skills and experience with pandas, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face.
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with large data warehouses such as Snowflake or Postgres.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and results to clients, prospects, and varied audiences.
  • Experience with messy financial data, such as bank transactions, financial statements, or credit reports, preferred.
  • Portfolio of data science or analytics work, including source code, preferred.
