Description

  • Exceed quarterly and annual revenue and profit goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and key government and military stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities, bids, and contract pipelines.
  • Develop requirements with customers for future bids and contract quotations for equipment and services.
  • Lead the development of compelling and compliant proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Provide weekly sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and reports on business development activity and market trends.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, symposiums, trade shows, and military engagements to generate sales opportunities and market intelligence.
  • Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to expand the company’s footprint within the DOD CBRN community.
  • Prepare price quotations, establish contract terms, and process quotes and orders accurately.
  • Conduct market research and communicate competitive intelligence, opportunities, and threats to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field is required.
  • Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in defense sales and business development with a successful track record of winning DOD contracts.
  • Established understanding of government sales and federal contracting.
  • Demonstrated experience with DOD procurement and contracting processes.
  • Proven ability to work with and influence senior business and government leaders.
  • Strong communication skills and skillful negotiation ability.
  • Ability to complete work within required deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance, if required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Previous military experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with contracting vehicles such as GSA, ECAT, EMALL, and Prime Vendor schedules.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Oracle ERP, Epicor, Salesforce, Slack, Concur, and ADP.
