Description

  • Lead architecture for Databricks lakehouse implementations, platform migrations, and modernization programs, with an emphasis on Azure.
  • Design Delta Lake, medallion architecture, Unity Catalog, ingestion, orchestration, CI/CD, testing, observability, and FinOps standards.
  • Own technical direction for migrations from legacy platforms such as Teradata, Snowflake, Synapse, and on-premises data warehouses.
  • Architect AI-ready platforms involving feature pipelines, Mosaic AI, model serving, GenAI, and agentic workloads.
  • Lead discovery calls, architecture workshops, solution design, engagement scoping, and SOW reviews.
  • Build reusable accelerators, reference architectures, and technical playbooks.
  • Act as Nimble Gravity’s primary technical liaison to Databricks across partner programs, co-sell activities, and field engagements.
  • Maintain Databricks technical and certification knowledge while supporting team credential development.
  • Identify delivery risks involving scope, data quality, security, and cost, and recommend mitigations.
  • Mentor engineers, lead enablement sessions, and partner with engagement leads to keep projects on scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

  • Current Databricks Champion certification in good standing, with a shareable credentials wallet link.
  • 10+ years of data engineering or data architecture experience, including 4+ years of hands-on Databricks experience.
  • Production experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows or Lakeflow, and Databricks SQL.
  • Strong command of Spark, PySpark, SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Experience designing security and governance controls, including access management, lineage, PII handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deep cloud platform experience, ideally Azure with ADLS, Entra ID, networking, and DevOps; working knowledge of AWS or GCP.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and C-suite executives.
  • Additional Databricks certifications such as Data Engineer Professional or Solutions Architect preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, MLflow, Mosaic AI, GenAI, or agentic workloads preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform, Asset Bundles, CI/CD, consulting, engagement estimation, and SOW development preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work without H-1B sponsorship.
