Description

  • Own a regional territory and manage the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through close.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers at the school district level.
  • Develop territory business plans and shape sales strategy using funding and district initiative insights.
  • Design and manage lead generation campaigns.
  • Conduct pipeline management and forecasting for the territory.
  • Meet in person with school and district leaders to present solutions, negotiate terms, and secure agreements.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional sales team to support growth and revenue targets.
  • Evaluate customer needs and tailor solutions within established guidelines.
  • Represent Newsela in the market with significant autonomy and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience hitting or exceeding large sales quotas in the K-12 EdTech space required.
  • Experience selling K-12 EdTech in Texas preferred.
  • Prior experience as an ELA or Social Studies teacher or instructional coach preferred, or a strong grasp of K-12 pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated experience as a strategic territory manager with executive presence in consultative district conversations.
  • Experience with high-volume district sales and building a book of business from scratch.
  • Proven ability to drive sales quickly to close in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, adaptable to change, and able to manage priorities independently.
  • Willingness to travel around 25%, depending on business and customer needs.
  • Open to flexible hours; most accounts are in Eastern and Central time zones.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • Role is exempt salaried and not eligible for overtime.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.

  • Base salary of $70,000-$75,000 depending on prior experience.
  • On-target commission of $70,000-$75,000 depending on prior experience.
  • On-target earnings of $140,000-$150,000, with variable compensation eligibility.
