Description

  • Architect and implement clean, modular, and scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservice principles.
  • Design efficient database schemas and write optimized queries for RDS (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and optionally NoSQL stores.
  • Integrate messaging/event systems (Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ) to build asynchronous, decoupled architectures.
  • Implement caching strategies using Redis or Memcached to achieve low-latency, high-performance behavior.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of distributed, resilient systems that handle high throughput and concurrency.
  • Profile and tune backend performance across databases, APIs, and infrastructure.
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests and maintain high code quality and testing discipline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and take end-to-end ownership of features in an agile, startup-like environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on backend development experience in a product-based company (preferably SaaS).
  • Strong expertise in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
  • Solid understanding and experience with relational databases (RDS, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ for building asynchronous, decoupled systems.
  • Proficiency with Redis or Memcached for caching and performance tuning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Passion for writing clean, readable, and well-tested code with strong testing discipline.
  • Prior experience working in a high-growth startup for 2+ years (preferred).
  • Exposure to AI/ML-integrated solutions or interest in collaborating with data science teams (preferred).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation, monitoring/observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/GKE).
  • Familiarity with NoSQL systems such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or DynamoDB (nice to have).
