Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Develop and deploy large-scale web applications.
  • Build automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Work across the full lifecycle from development to deployment to operations.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and own production systems end to end.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product management, and design in a fast-moving team.
  • Iterate on product quality, performance, and accessibility.
  • Contribute to AI-integrated features and real-time classroom experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
  • Experience building websites with thousands of daily visitors.
  • Experience improving SEO performance.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, or Vercel.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Understanding and support of Nerdy’s apolitical company focus.
