Description

  • Own and improve the use of React across the codebase, including migrations, performance measurement, and framework guidance.
  • Evolve and scale the design system and component library in partnership with Design.
  • Profile, diagnose, and fix client-side performance bottlenecks and establish performance budgets and dashboards.
  • Define framework-level patterns and tools that make strong frontend performance easier to achieve.
  • Own frontend testing strategy and drive improvements across the codebase.
  • Write playbooks and documentation, deliver technical talks, and pair with product engineers to improve speed and quality.
  • Create local tooling that increases developer productivity and codebase health.
  • Help product teams adopt platform improvements and level up their engineering practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional frontend or full-stack engineering experience, with deep expertise in React and the modern React ecosystem.
  • Experience working on a platform, infrastructure, or developer experience team.
  • Strong understanding of client-side performance, including React DevTools, Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, bundle analysis, and runtime tuning.
  • Hands-on experience building or significantly contributing to a design system or component library at scale.
  • Expertise in TypeScript and modern frontend build tooling.
  • Familiarity with state management approaches in large React applications.
  • Track record of mentoring, guiding, and influencing other engineers through documentation, pairing, code review, or internal tooling.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to propose technical direction and build consensus across teams.
  • Experience working on tooling in a monorepo, including testing strategies and build systems, is preferred.
  • Background in accessibility, including WCAG and ARIA patterns, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD optimization for frontend builds and test pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience with Electron or desktop web-hybrid applications is preferred.
  • Contributions to open-source design systems, React libraries, or developer tooling are preferred.
