Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Develop and deploy large-scale web applications.
  • Write automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Maintain quality through iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and own code end-to-end from development through operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, and design teams.
  • Work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving team environment.
  • Help shape student, educator, and institutional experiences across learning products.
  • Contribute to integrating AI into real-time classroom experiences and other product flows.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies as needed.
  • Experience developing high-traffic websites visited by thousands of users daily.
  • Experience improving SEO performance.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, or Vercel.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies is a plus.
  • Understanding and support of Nerdy’s apolitical company stance.
