Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Write automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Deploy and support large-scale web applications.
  • Own code end-to-end from development through deployment and operations, including on-call rotation.
  • Work iteratively to improve quality and ship better solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, and design teams.
  • Work independently in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Learn and apply new technologies and approaches as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience developing high-traffic websites visited by thousands of users daily.
  • Experience improving SEO performance.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, Vercel, or similar tools.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Fluent English.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
  • Understanding and alignment with Nerdy’s apolitical company approach.
