Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, and well-documented code for web applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Deploy and support large-scale web applications across the full software lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver responsive user experiences and new product features.
  • Own code end-to-end from development through deployment and operations, including on-call support.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving engineering team.
  • Iterate on product quality, accessibility, and performance improvements.
  • Integrate AI into product experiences and use AI-native development tools to accelerate implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies as needed.
  • Experience developing high-traffic websites visited by thousands of users daily.
  • Experience improving SEO performance.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, or Vercel.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Understanding of and alignment with Nerdy’s apolitical company stance.
