Description

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform for repeatable, version-controlled, and auditable deployments.
  • Automate deployment and configuration of applications, bioinformatics pipelines, and supporting services across GCP and AWS.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts in Python and Shell/Bash to reduce manual operations and improve deployment reliability.
  • Manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Run, and AWS container services.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to track application and pipeline health.
  • Implement security controls in CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments, including secrets management, access controls, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Manage configuration management for application environments and bioinformatics workstations.
  • Create deployment documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides to support compliance requirements.
  • Mentor development teams on DevOps best practices, cloud-native patterns, and tooling.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering with a strong automation focus.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions is strongly preferred, with GitLab CI or Jenkins also relevant.
  • Strong hands-on experience with both GCP and AWS, including production workload deployment and management.
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code automation and provisioning.
  • Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Shell/Bash, including building automation from scratch.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Git version control workflows, and branching strategies.
  • Experience implementing security best practices in CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear process documentation.
  • Preferred experience in regulated industries such as FDA, clinical diagnostics, or healthcare, including validation and compliance documentation.
  • Preferred background in software development or engineering with understanding of application architecture.
  • Preferred familiarity with bioinformatics workflows, NGS pipelines, or computational biology environments.
  • Preferred experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Preferred knowledge of GitOps practices and declarative deployment patterns.
  • Preferred cloud FinOps or cost optimization experience in multi-cloud environments.
  • Preferred contributions to open-source DevOps tools or automation projects.
