Description

  • Implement new product features and extend existing functionality.
  • Build frontend platform components used across internal products, external products, and ecommerce storefronts such as Shopify and Salesforce.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and maintain code quality standards with senior engineers.
  • Translate wireframes and mockups into functional UI components in partnership with product and design teams.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Golang and Node.js.
  • Deploy code and infrastructure components in a Google Cloud Platform environment and work within CI/CD workflows.
  • Work with databases such as Postgres, Spanner, and BigQuery.
  • Design and implement RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Support consumer-facing applications that consume APIs from a microservice backend.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to code reviews.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in computer science, information systems, or an equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of experience building reliable, scalable, high-quality systems.
  • Experience building consumer-facing applications with a frontend framework such as React, Svelte, Angular, Vue, or Ember, with React preferred.
  • Experience building software with NodeJS or Golang.
  • Experience developing consumer-facing applications that consume APIs from a microservice backend system.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the full development lifecycle and computer science fundamentals.
  • Strong focus on code quality and code reviews.
  • Experience mentoring other engineers.
  • Previous startup experience is strongly preferred, with a growth and product engineering mindset.

  • Estimated annual salary range of CAD $180,000 to $230,000.
