Description

  • Lead prototyping for simulation game ideas using a build-first, hands-on approach.
  • Drive rapid gameplay tests, iterate quickly, and validate or discard concepts based on feedback.
  • Shape high-level design into compelling gameplay, features, content, and progression systems.
  • Develop clear core loops and player experiences that support replayability and long-term engagement.
  • Balance real-world authenticity with enjoyable, intuitive game design.
  • Use rapid prototyping, player feedback, and creative tools to inform design decisions.
  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage a small design team as the studio grows.
  • Foster effective collaboration across design, technical, art, and production teams.
  • Support a network of contractors for specialized design needs such as level design.
  • Help build a studio culture centered on curiosity, iteration, and shared ownership.

Requirements

  • Experience leading design on simulation, sandbox, or systems-driven games.
  • Ability to translate high-level ideas into practical, in-build gameplay work.
  • Ability to balance real-world authenticity with gamified fun.
  • Excellent communication skills for creating clear, concise, and inspiring designs.
  • Comfortable working in lean, agile environments.
  • Comfortable staying hands-on and using creative acceleration tools.
  • A genuine love of simulation games and turning everyday life into extraordinary play.
  • Located within a UK or EU timezone.
