Description

  • Design and build major components of the cloud architecture, including networking, storage, and compute abstraction layers.
  • Own technical design end-to-end and write code where it has the highest impact.
  • Drive the evolution of the Kubernetes-based developer platform to improve scalability, cost attribution, access control, and developer ergonomics.
  • Design and implement platform improvements that reduce configuration complexity and accelerate engineering velocity.
  • Define and roll out reliability standards across platform services, including SLIs, SLOs, observability, and failover.
  • Partner with peer teams to improve platform-layer service reliability.
  • Lead FinOps practices, including cost visibility, cost attribution, accountability, and optimization recommendations.
  • Integrate LLM-powered tooling into CI, build systems, monitoring platforms, and local development workflows to improve developer experience.
  • Set technical direction for initiatives that span multiple teams and influence platform strategy.
  • Mentor senior technical staff and help shape engineering roadmaps across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering, with significant experience as a senior individual contributor.
  • Deep, expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes internals and ecosystem, including Operators, Crossplane, ArgoWorkflow/Airflow, KubeRay, Kubecost/OpenCost, service mesh, GitOps, and other CNCF projects.
  • Proven experience designing or migrating complex workloads between on-premises data centers and major cloud providers such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Terraform Cloud, Spacelift, or Atlantis.
  • Experience with advanced observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Expertise in architecting AI-driven operations using LLMs and agentic workflows for incident response, predictive scaling, and intelligent observability.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical roadmaps across an engineering organization and mentor senior technical staff.
  • Experience with CI/CD orchestration and build systems such as Bazel and RBE is a plus.
  • Prior experience with large-scale machine learning training pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience leading technical projects in a globally distributed team is a plus.
  • Open-source contributions to Kubernetes, observability, or infrastructure tooling ecosystems are a plus.

  • Base salary range of $172,000 to $229,000 USD.
