Description

  • Author technical design documents to propose, evaluate, and implement scalable infrastructure and tooling solutions.
  • Build internal CLI tools, web applications, and Python-based SDKs to help engineers produce and interact with metrics data.
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for high-throughput data processing and analytics.
  • Design and build efficient data pipelines using dbt, Apache Iceberg or Parquet, and Redshift.
  • Surface data to BI platforms such as Looker for analysis and reporting.
  • Champion CI/CD best practices using GitLab and support containerized service deployments.
  • Establish engineering standards and mentor peers as a technical pillar for the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across autonomy, infrastructure, and operations on systems performance and readiness efforts.
  • Drive architecture reviews and help shape the roadmap for the metrics infrastructure.
  • Support scalable measurement, validation, and analysis of autonomy system performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on backend, data infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • Deep expertise in Python, especially for scalable backend systems, SDKs, and CLI tools.
  • Proven experience with AWS, Redshift, and open-source data formats such as Iceberg and Parquet.
  • Experience with dbt for data transformations and BI tools such as Looker.
  • Hands-on experience with Ray for scaling Python workloads.
  • Strong familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience setting up robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and thorough technical design documents.
  • Experience leading architecture reviews.
  • Prior experience with data engineering pipelines for IoT, telemetry, or sensors is preferred.
  • Experience working with autonomous vehicle data is preferred.

  • Salary range of $149,000 to $198,500 USD base pay.
  • Additional compensation may include a bonus and company equity.
