Description

  • Perform administrative duties such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Improve administrative processes to create a more efficient workflow.
  • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings and contracts.
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to support reports, case files, and legal advice.
  • Manage client billing, including preparing, finalizing, sending bills, and resolving billing issues with the billing attorney.
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in paralegal studies, paralegal certificate, or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
