Description

Provide technical leadership as an individual contributor within the Machine Learning discipline.
Work with stakeholders across the organization to identify and scope high-impact financial crime and fraud opportunities.
Lead the design and development of advanced real-time machine learning models.
Explore and apply neural network, graph-based, and sequence-based architectures to improve detection of financial crime.
Build ML solutions that detect suspicious behavior while minimizing impact on genuine customers and operational costs.
Adapt detection systems to changing fraud and financial crime trends to keep them performant over time.
Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, backend engineers, and designers in an agile squad.
Mentor others and help raise technical standards and best practices across the team.
Work with the MLOps team to improve tooling for rapid model iteration and the full ML lifecycle.
Justify technical approaches and demonstrate measurable business and customer impact.

Requirements

Multiple years of experience leading the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models to solve real business problems.
Experience developing and shipping deep learning, graph-based, and/or sequence-based ML architectures to production.
Strong production Python experience and a strong command of SQL.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and helping teams and stakeholders resolve it.
Impact-driven with experience owning work end to end from business problem to measurable production outcome.
Self-starter mindset with the ability to proactively identify and solve issues and opportunities.
Product mindset focused on customer outcomes and data-informed decisions.
Ability to communicate machine learning concepts clearly to colleagues who are not domain experts.
Adaptable, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and ideas.
Preferred experience working in financial crime or regulated institutions.
Preferred commercial experience writing critical production code and working with microservices.
Willingness to learn Go, which is used in many backend microservices.

Benefits

Salary of £115,000 to £150,000.
Incentive awards tied to performance.
Help relocating to the UK.

Flexible working hours.
Distributed working within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London.
Learning budget of £1,000 per year for training courses and conferences.
Option to work part-time where possible.
