Description

Understand and improve the current functionality of the MongoDB networking and observability codebase.
Lead medium-sized projects related to networking code or observability frameworks from technical design through delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues across ideation, requirements gathering, design, execution, and delivery.
Own and exemplify MongoDB’s leadership principles in day-to-day work.
Fix bugs and contribute to minor release series work.
Contribute to projects planned for upcoming major versions.
Take primary code review responsibilities and review designs for new features over time.
Develop new major features for MongoDB’s networking and observability stack.

Requirements

3+ years of experience building distributed systems.
Experience delivering and deploying a product with cross-team stakeholders.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
Hands-on experience building production-level code.
C++ experience is required.
Interest in networking, observability, and how computer architecture and internals affect SaaS availability.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly motivated to collaborate with colleagues.
Based remotely in Canada.
Experience with open observability frameworks or OpenTelemetry is a plus.

Base salary range of $122,000–$170,000 CAD.
