Description

  • Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure for large software projects using MongoDB.
  • Advise customers on architecture patterns and optimization strategies while clearly communicating business value to stakeholders.
  • Partner with sales teams on account planning, opportunity qualification, pipeline generation, and deal strategy.
  • Own the technical aspects of opportunities, including discovery, demos, proof of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation.
  • Work directly with customers to review complex application architectures and recommend improvements.
  • Proactively generate demand through technical initiatives, trade shows, and account-based marketing events.
  • Build strong customer relationships, develop champions, and help ensure customer success and satisfaction.
  • Relay field feedback to product teams and contribute ideas to improve MongoDB solutions and processes.
  • Mentor other Solutions Consulting team members and participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements

  • 8 to 11 years of related experience in a customer-facing role, including 5 to 7 years in pre-sales with enterprise software.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, or SQL, and/or programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or C#.
  • Experience designing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Experience reviewing complex application architectures and providing technical guidance to improve them.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for explaining technical and business concepts to both technology and business leadership.
  • Ability to strategize with sales teams and drive a multi-threaded account strategy.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience selling databases and/or deploying applications with major cloud providers (preferred).
  • Experience with database programming and data models (preferred).
  • Experience in data engineering or AI/ML projects (preferred).
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems into scalable technology stacks (preferred).
  • Understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message (preferred).
  • MongoDB certification or a cloud provider certification (preferred).
