Description

  • Own the pre-sales lifecycle for prospective enterprise customers from qualification through technical win.
  • Diagnose customer technical and business pain points, identify root causes, and map solutions to success metrics and business outcomes.
  • Build and deliver customized demonstrations, workshops, trials, and proofs of concept to validate fit and highlight competitive advantages.
  • Support digital sales rooms and credit sizing estimates to align technical strategy with sales execution.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships to help customers set up infrastructure and achieve their first value quickly.
  • Monitor adoption dashboards and lead business reviews and customer cadences to maintain high platform adoption and resolve issues proactively.
  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities by moving customers into new workloads and groups.
  • Represent Matillion at industry events and create technical content or case studies to showcase real-world problem solving.
  • Collect customer feedback and relay insights to Product and Engineering to improve the platform and market fit.
  • Stay current on cloud computing and data transformation trends and share market intelligence internally and with customers.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience working with enterprise customers in a technical role such as Solution Architect, Sales Engineer, or similar.
  • Strong experience in solution selling and demonstrating value through tailored software presentations and handling technical objections.
  • Experience using, and preferably selling, AI and agentic AI solutions such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or n8n.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • In-depth understanding of relational databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.
  • Hands-on experience with technical problem-solving and integration technologies including APIs, Linux, and SQL.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Matillion’s Data Productivity Cloud or Matillion ETL platforms and competitive ETL solutions is preferred.
  • Experience with value-based sales motions such as MEDDPPICC and Command of the Message is preferred.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark and PySpark, data lakes, and MPP databases such as Teradata, Vertica, and Netezza is preferred.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git and experience with Python is preferred.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
  • Experience using Salesforce is preferred.

  • Estimated total on-target annual earnings of £102,400 - £153,600, including sales commissions.
