Description

  • Develop full-stack products with a backend focus using Python services, GraphQL APIs, React, and React Native.
  • Build and maintain efficient, reusable systems for complex web and mobile applications.
  • Ensure HIPAA, GDPR, and general security compliance through engineering best practices.
  • Write technical specifications and RFCs for large, ambiguous, cross-domain projects and align scope with product partners.
  • Lead major initiatives, own engineering roadmap commitments, manage launch timelines, and coordinate cross-team dependencies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, unit tests, and integration tests.
  • Contribute to strategic engineering initiatives and cross-team engineering forums.
  • Mentor engineers and provide constructive reviews of technical plans and code.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident investigation, remediation, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant software development experience in general-purpose programming languages.
  • 2+ years of production full-stack web development experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native, and React.
  • Experience building and maintaining GraphQL and/or REST APIs.
  • Experience scaling relational databases such as PostgreSQL and writing performant queries.
  • Ability to independently break down ambiguous problems, develop technical strategies, estimate work, and deliver results.
  • Track record of writing technical plans or RFCs and leading initiatives across multiple domains or teams.
  • Experience architecting large-scale projects and serving as a technical thought leader.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience mentoring and working effectively with distributed engineering teams.
  • Preferred: experience with SSO/SAML, OIDC, JWT, AI/LLM features, scripting, AWS, high-growth startups, Health Tech, or HR technology.
  • Applicants must maintain work authorization without employer sponsorship; immigration sponsorship is unavailable.
  • The role is fully remote, requires overlapping work hours, is not eligible to be performed in Hawaii, and requires U.S.-based employees outside Pacific time to work at least six hours within 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific time.
