Description

  • Own and account for the technical decisions of the product.
  • Design solutions for products, components, features, and libraries that meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Define and document technical and architectural visions for the solution.
  • Define subsystems and interfaces, with clear responsibility allocation across the architecture.
  • Evaluate and select software, hardware, and integration methods.
  • Document architecture decisions in a centralized, accessible location.
  • Support agile development through planning, solution definition, and exploration of alternatives.
  • Provide technical advice during prioritization, iteration planning, and task allocation.
  • Review acceptance criteria for critical developer tasks.
  • Communicate technical options and decisions to scientists, researchers, developers, business stakeholders, and management.
  • Validate technical feasibility, rapidly prototype solutions, and simulate protocols to test ideas.
  • Lead technical direction for proofs of concept and transform research ideas into viable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, including production systems delivery.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical architect role.
  • 2+ years of experience leading software development teams.
  • Practical experience applying Agile software development methodologies in cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of both functional and object-oriented programming paradigms.
  • Hands-on experience with languages such as Haskell or Rust.
  • Proficiency with Git and common Git workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with scientists, researchers, or formal methods specialists in interdisciplinary environments.
  • Ability to define technical vision and break solutions into manageable tasks with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Based in CET, Eastern US, or Middle East time zones, with ability to maintain 70% overlap with 10 AM to 5 PM CET core hours.
