Description

  • Architect and implement an admin-first Liferay portal where non-technical users can manage content, layouts, navigation, and user experiences without code changes.
  • Design and configure Content Pages, Widget Pages, reusable components, and page builder capabilities for drag-and-drop page creation.
  • Create Web Content Structures, Templates, Display Page Templates, and Collections to support structured content and dynamic listing pages.
  • Implement taxonomy, categories, and tags to help admins organize and publish content dynamically.
  • Build a reusable Liferay Fragment library with configurable components such as hero banners, card grids, accordions, testimonials, and forms.
  • Expose fragment-level configuration for text, images, links, colors, and visibility rules so admins can customize pages without developer support.
  • Set up dynamic navigation, footers, sitemaps, and multi-site hierarchies with independent administration.
  • Configure workflows, scheduled publishing, content versioning, and rollback processes for non-technical content governance.
  • Install and configure Liferay DXP 7.4+ with templates, site initializers, and client extensions as needed.
  • Develop front-end templates and fragments using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and FreeMarker, with React where applicable for headless use cases.
  • Integrate Documents & Media and Liferay Forms for asset management, form fields, validations, and email notifications.
  • Support implementation of accessibility features aligned with Dubai Digital Authority standards and Arabic/English content requirements.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software development experience in Java/J2EE.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Liferay DXP development experience, preferably with version 7.3 or 7.4.
  • Proven experience building a portal where content teams can manage the entire site without code changes.
  • Deep expertise in Liferay CMS, including Web Content Management, Structures, Templates, Fragments, Content Pages, Display Pages, and Collections.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6, and responsive design.
  • Experience with FreeMarker for dynamic templating.
  • Experience administering Liferay Control Panel, Roles/Permissions, Site Templates, and Page Templates.
  • Basic SQL knowledge with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
  • Experience with Liferay Headless REST APIs to support decoupled frontend frameworks such as React or Vue is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Liferay 7.4 Client Extensions is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines for deploying site initializers and fragments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap 5, or React components within Liferay is preferred.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch for admin-managed faceted search is preferred.
  • Ability to support a multilingual Arabic and English implementation.
  • Ability to work from a high-fidelity Figma prototype and support installation, deployment, and optional ongoing support.
  • Arabic and English language proficiency at C1, C2, or B2 level as specified.
