Description

  • Set the technical direction for AI capabilities across HotDocs, including architecture, roadmap, and delivery strategy.
  • Design and deliver AI-powered enterprise features from prototype to production at scale.
  • Write and maintain clean, performant .NET Core and React code for production systems.
  • Lead AI adoption across the software development lifecycle, including coding assistants, agentic workflows, test generation, code review, and documentation.
  • Establish evaluation harnesses, guardrails, observability, and AI governance for safe, trustworthy AI.
  • Modernize and refactor legacy code to support AI integration and improve scalability and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
  • Partner with product, architecture, security, customer-facing teams, and DevOps to shape roadmap and delivery decisions.
  • Extend CI/CD and AI Ops practices to support prompt and model versioning, automated evaluation, monitoring, and cost tracking.
  • Ensure AI features solve real customer problems and provide a strong user experience.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, including principal, lead, or staff-level technical roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core (C#) and React (TypeScript) or similar SPA frameworks.
  • Experience designing and shipping production AI solutions, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, MCP, and agentic or tool-calling systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms and services such as Azure OpenAI or AI Foundry, plus orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel.
  • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
  • Proficiency with Entity Framework and Azure SQL or SQL Server.
  • Experience evaluating AI system quality through test sets, benchmarking, human review loops, and non-deterministic behavior handling.
  • Understanding of web application security and AI-specific security concerns, including secure coding, prompt injection, and sensitive data handling.
  • Experience with Git and modern collaboration workflows such as pull requests and branching strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as Azure DevOps or similar.
  • Comfort working in agile teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Practical experience using AI tools within the SDLC and a perspective on scaling adoption across a team.
  • Track record of technical leadership, including mentoring senior engineers and influencing architecture and roadmap decisions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Addins (office.js / VSTO) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with .NET Framework or WPF is preferred.
  • Experience with OAuth and SSO is preferred.
  • Exposure to distributed caching such as Redis is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Linux environments and Docker is preferred.
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell is preferred.
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and application diagnostics is preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tooling is preferred.
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS or compliance-heavy domains such as legaltech or fintech is preferred.
