Description

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production-ready API solutions.
  • Write and execute unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure product quality.
  • Create and maintain internal software documentation and public API documentation.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, researchers, product managers, and cloud/operations engineers to define requirements and deliver products.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, refinements, planning, and retrospectives.
  • Provide second-level support through a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Work within a primarily microservice and serverless technology stack deployed to AWS.
  • Mentor more junior engineers when needed and help troubleshoot issues across multiple modules and external dependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development using modern development platforms.
  • Experience developing solutions for cloud services, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience building Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) systems.
  • Experience implementing distributed systems using serverless technology or microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Experience developing solutions for deployment within Docker containers.
  • Experience building automated unit and integration tests for regression testing.
  • Experience building automated load, stress, and endurance tests for performance testing.
  • 1+ year of programming experience implementing production systems in Golang (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, KMS, and API Gateway (preferred).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, and/or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) (preferred).
  • Database development experience with MongoDB, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, or RDS (preferred).
  • Experience with JavaScript SPA frameworks such as React/Redux, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, image processing, machine learning, or additional languages including Java, Bash, Groovy, Python, and C++ (preferred).
  • Experience developing systems based on user stories (preferred).
