Description

  • Lead day-to-day technical direction and support delivery against priorities.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support production software.
  • Guide architecture decisions across front-end, back-end, cloud, and infrastructure components.
  • Break down initiatives, estimate effort, and manage dependencies.
  • Mentor engineers, facilitate technical discussions, and support capability development.
  • Review code and reinforce standards for quality, security, scalability, observability, and testing.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Identify and resolve risks, blockers, dependencies, and production issues.
  • Improve development practices, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and team workflows.
  • Promote ownership of deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.

Requirements

  • Significant professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Strong back-end development experience; production Go experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong JavaScript and single-page application experience, particularly React.
  • Experience designing and delivering production-grade full stack applications.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and modern application development.
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable code and unit, integration, and performance tests.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, particularly S3, SQS, ECS, EC2, or Lambda.
  • Proficiency with Git, code reviews, collaborative workflows, and modern engineering practices.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English and strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: TypeScript, Redux, HTML, CSS, MongoDB/DocumentDB/RavenDB, Terraform or CloudFormation, Cypress, serverless or microservices architectures, Bash, Java, Groovy, or Python.
  • Preferred: Agile delivery experience and prior Technical Lead, Team Lead, or Lead Engineer experience.
