Description

  • Design original computational statistics problems that simulate real mathematical research workflows.
  • Create problems that require Python programming to solve using libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and SymPy.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems that cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
  • Create problems requiring non-trivial reasoning in areas such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
  • Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from mathematical practice.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
  • Complete project tasks during active phases, typically estimated at 10–20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience.
  • Python proficiency for numerical validation.
  • Strong written English at C1 level or higher.
  • Experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or another programming language is equivalent.
  • Professional certifications such as CMME, SAS Certifications, or CAP are an advantage.
  • Experience in international or applied projects is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work on part-time, non-permanent projects.
  • CV must be submitted in English.
  • English proficiency level must be indicated.
