Description

  • Design original computational statistics problems that simulate real mathematical research workflows.
  • Create problems that require Python programming to solve using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems that cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
  • Create problems that require non-trivial reasoning in areas such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
  • Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from mathematical practice.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard mathematical libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
  • Participate in project-based tasks during active project phases and complete assigned work within the estimated time requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics or a related field.
  • Python proficiency for numerical validation.
  • Experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or another programming language may be considered equivalent.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience.
  • Strong written English proficiency at C1 level or above.
  • Ability to work part-time on non-permanent, project-based assignments.
  • Professional certifications such as CMME, SAS Certifications, or CAP are an advantage.
  • Experience in international or applied projects is an advantage.
  • Candidates should submit their CV in English and indicate their English proficiency level.

Benefits

  • Up to $38 per hour equivalent, depending on level and pace of contribution.
  • Estimated workload of around 10–20 hours per week during active project phases.
