Description

  • Design original computational physics problems that simulate real physics research workflows.
  • Create problems that require Python programming to solve using tools such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy.
  • Develop computationally intensive problems that cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
  • Build problems requiring non-trivial reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
  • Base problem design on real research challenges or practical applications from physics practice.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard physics simulation libraries.
  • Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.
  • Work on project-based tasks during active phases, typically estimated at 10–20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or a related field.
  • Python proficiency for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or Stata can be equivalent.
  • 2+ years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience.
  • Experience with numerical simulation methods.
  • Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows.
  • Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas.
  • Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques.
  • Strong written English at C1+ level.
  • Open to part-time, non-permanent project-based work.
  • CV must be submitted in English and English proficiency must be indicated.
