Description

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of the Identity Platform.
  • Own the end-to-end identity verification lifecycle, including CIP, CDD, and continuous risk monitoring.
  • Build and operate systems that support KYC obligations, re-verification, and compliance decisioning.
  • Drive AI-first automation to reduce manual review and improve efficiency across screening and rule evaluation workflows.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team and improve velocity and reliability.
  • Act as a technical and business-facing leader for customer and regulatory escalations.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations, and Legal on platform roadmap and identity strategy.
  • Improve system reliability through operational excellence, on-call hygiene, and blameless post-mortems.
  • Translate complex compliance scenarios into scalable platform improvements.
  • Engage directly with enterprise customers and compliance stakeholders to resolve identity and regulatory issues.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience managing senior and staff engineers.
  • Strong backend engineering experience building and scaling backend systems.
  • Experience leading teams across synchronous API services and batch/event-driven ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with Java/Spring Boot and Python/Airflow, or similar backend and data tooling.
  • Operational excellence mindset with experience in incident management and system reliability.
  • Hands-on AI-first mindset and comfort using AI/ML to improve automation and team velocity.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and take full ownership of outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Nice to have: deep understanding of identity verification, AML/BSA compliance, and financial services or fintech regulatory obligations.
  • Nice to have: experience integrating with vendors such as Trulioo, LexisNexis, Socure, or Alloy.
  • Nice to have: background in fintech issuing platforms, core banking, or payments operations.
  • Nice to have: prior ownership of KYC/KYB automation initiatives that reduced manual review or compliance risk.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with OFAC screening, FinCEN CIP rules, or Red Flag program requirements.
