Description

  • Manage and support a team of 7–8 engineers building the core RightsDB database.
  • Support RightsDB initiatives such as the Publishing Deny List and DDEX-based UGC rights ingestion.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to team members.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.
  • Partner with the product manager and cross-functional stakeholders to define scope, roadmap, and priorities.
  • Align business needs with technical implementation and set squad technical strategy.
  • Manage timelines and drive reliable, timely feature delivery.
  • Oversee platform operations including performance, security, incident response, and on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with legal, rights operations, and content teams to evolve Spotify Rights Center for regulatory and rightsholder needs.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally in a product-focused and cross-functional setting.
  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including web, backend, or full-stack development.
  • Experience with web technologies, distributed systems, or cloud platforms.
  • Comfort managing stakeholders from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Experience delivering outcomes in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong focus on user experience, data accuracy, and system integrity in legal or IP-sensitive domains.
  • Growth mindset and passion for building scalable systems.
  • Ability to support and empower a team to do its best work.
  • Familiarity with the music or media rights domain or similar IP-centric industries (preferred).
  • Familiarity with content management systems, legal compliance platforms, or large-scale data pipelines (preferred).
  • Familiarity with platform migrations, user access control models, or third-party integrations (preferred).
