Description

  • Research and implement new processes, tools, and technologies that improve how the team builds and scales software.
  • Participate across the full software development lifecycle, from feature design and planning through delivery and support.
  • Write, refine, and estimate stories and tasks in Jira as part of Agile/Scrum planning.
  • Own test automation for new code, including unit and integration testing.
  • Identify and address technical debt in existing codebases while balancing delivery speed and code health.
  • Collaborate with deployment, QA, and support teams to support stable releases and resolve issues.
  • Champion code quality through peer reviews, clear documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to backend service development using Java and Spring Boot in a high-volume production environment.
  • Help design and integrate REST APIs and asynchronous microservice-based systems.
  • Support cloud-native delivery and Kubernetes deployment practices using AWS, GitHub Actions, Helm, and ArgoCD.

Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, a related technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on Java development experience.
  • Strong backend development experience working with complex, high-volume systems.
  • Experience with asynchronous microservice architectures.
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and integrating REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services, ideally AWS.
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum principles and practices.
  • Comfort working with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Helm, ArgoCD, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Ability to write clean, simple, maintainable code.
  • Ability to implement meaningful unit and integration test coverage.
  • Experience with MariaDB is relevant to the role.
  • Experience with Java Spring Boot is central to the role.
