Description

  • Lead, coach, and grow an autonomous, inclusive, high-performing engineering team.
  • Own the shipping and logistics domain, including carrier integrations, rate shopping, label generation, and supporting systems.
  • Set technical direction, prioritize the backlog, and manage delivery processes in alignment with company strategy.
  • Champion AI agents for project planning, issue triage, and software development, while reviewing AI-generated work rigorously.
  • Maintain engineering standards including test-driven development, SOLID principles, and sustainable delivery practices.
  • Partner with Product and Design to shape roadmaps, estimate work, and communicate decisions.
  • Balance feature development, technical debt, support, and innovation priorities.
  • Foster accountability, visibility, trust, and healthy communication across the team and stakeholders.
  • Participate in hiring and make decisions regarding team structure and development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing high-performing, product-focused software engineering teams.
  • Recent hands-on software engineering experience with architectural decision-making, developer mentoring, and scalable system design.
  • Demonstrated use of AI agents as a standard part of engineering work, including measurable impact on team output.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, including Scrum and iterative software delivery.
  • Experience delivering business value in SaaS, startup, or ecommerce environments preferred.
  • Exposure to shipping, fulfillment, reverse logistics, or complex integrations preferred.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, manage stakeholders, and make tradeoffs under constraints.
  • Strong communication skills and a track record of building trust and accountability.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Experience with PHP/Laravel, Vue.js, MySQL, DynamoDB, Kubernetes, AWS, Jira, Claude, Cursor, Datadog, or Snowflake is relevant; the hiring process is tech-stack agnostic.
