Description

  • Manage and develop a distributed team of backend and frontend engineers across EMEA and North America.
  • Provide feedback, career coaching, and growth support through regular development conversations.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to help customers and prospects succeed with observability collection.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to integrate Fleet Management, the Kubernetes Monitoring Helm Chart, and Instrumentation Hub into Grafana Cloud’s user experience.
  • Guide projects from ideation and planning through execution, launch, and post-launch improvements.
  • Foster psychological safety, experimentation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across team and functional boundaries to solve customer problems.

Requirements

  • Experience with observability, particularly OpenTelemetry, or with building central control planes for managing collector fleets is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing engineering teams and supporting individual career development.
  • Ability to work effectively with autonomous engineering teams on technical and product decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of current technical trends and the challenges facing engineering teams.
  • Experience collaborating across time zones and cultures in a fully remote environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and improve team performance.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to ground technical decisions in user needs.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and observability.
  • Comfort using AI-assisted development tools; practical experience incorporating them into team workflows is preferred.
