Description

  • Build backend components including APIs, serverless functions, queue systems, and data storage services.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing ideas as your expertise develops.
  • Apply security and data-protection best practices to daily development work.
  • Write clean, well-tested code and maintain clear documentation through code reviews.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, clients, and cross-functional Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams.
  • Gather requirements, communicate project updates, and contribute to project delivery.
  • Own assigned tasks through completion while experimenting with new tools and techniques.
  • Develop skills and independence through Loka’s career track under the guidance of a Backend Lead.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of backend development experience.
  • Fluency in Python or Node.js with TypeScript.
  • Solid foundation in computer science.
  • Understanding of API and web communication protocols such as OpenAPI and gRPC.
  • Understanding of concurrency concepts in APIs and web applications.
  • Ability to work with a container-first approach.
  • Excellent English communication skills for meetings, customer calls, and business communications.
  • English-language CV, LinkedIn profile, and GitHub profile.
  • Preferred: experience with Go, TypeScript, PHP, Ruby, or frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, Next.js, Express, Laravel, or Ruby on Rails.
  • Preferred: experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, Redis, AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure tools such as AWS CDK or Terraform, generative AI services, or observability stacks.
