Description

  • Design and build scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems.
  • Identify, scope, prioritize, and independently drive ambiguous technical initiatives.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and align stakeholders across engineering.
  • Lead cross-cutting initiatives from analysis through completion.
  • Build and maintain internal infrastructure and developer tools using AWS and Terraform.
  • Own observability, logging, availability, and operational excellence.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests without a dedicated QA function.
  • Share knowledge through code reviews, design reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
  • Identify opportunities to improve software development and operations through AI and automation.
  • Address platform challenges such as database write scaling, CI/CD modernization, infrastructure migration, and service extraction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, including ownership of significant technical work from ambiguity through completion.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure, reliability, or performance, preferably in a platform or infrastructure team.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals transferable across languages and cloud platforms.
  • Experience designing and scaling distributed systems in cloud-native environments; AWS preferred, with strong Azure experience also considered.
  • Experience with containerized services and infrastructure-as-code, especially Docker and Terraform; CloudFormation exposure is relevant.
  • Ability to write unit and integration tests independently.
  • Fluent English.
  • Preferred experience with C#/.NET, PostgreSQL, AWS, ECS, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Kafka or comparable event-driven systems such as Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
  • Experience with observability, logging, infrastructure migrations, AI-assisted development tools, mentoring, or technology adoption.
