Description

  • Drive improvements to OpenSearch and Thanos infrastructure.
  • Design, build, and maintain backend services for high-performance data ingestion and storage.
  • Operate and scale services across AWS, including EC2, EKS, and ECR.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and own system reliability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams across the organization.
  • Research, experiment, and iterate on unresolved infrastructure problems.
  • Help improve ingestion throughput, query performance, and storage efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend or software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and telemetry tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS in a production environment.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Comfort diving into documentation, research papers, and new tools independently.
  • A builder’s mindset with experience shipping real systems end-to-end and iterating quickly.
  • Prior experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or Lucene (bonus).
  • Familiarity with Thanos or Prometheus (bonus).
  • Proficiency in Go (bonus).
  • Experience with data streaming tools such as Kafka or Pulsar (bonus).
  • Startup background with a track record of taking systems from zero to production (bonus).
  • Embraces AI-driven development as part of the engineering workflow.
